It’s a simple, honest way to name what life can feel like before you learn how to feel your emotions and embrace emotional release—and what can become possible after, as you practice recipe after recipe inside the HERO LIFE | HAPPY® Experience.
This isn’t about judging where you are. It’s about getting a clear foundation of what’s true for you right now, so you can track the beautiful shifts that happen over time—one small experiment at a time.
What this checklist is (and how to use it)
The checklist is split into two columns:

Start by reading the “before” side and checking anything that feels familiar. Then read the “after” side and circle the shifts you feel most drawn toward right now—those are your starting points.
What you might notice “before”
When you’re living in survival mode, it can look like overwhelm, reactivity, disconnection, and not knowing what to do with what you feel. The checklist names patterns like feeling emotionally unstable, seeking external validation, living disconnected from your true self, struggling to express the full range of emotions, and using coping mechanisms to hide emotional pain.
You might also recognize relationship patterns—conflict, defensiveness, blame, disconnection, difficulty repairing ruptures—and the feeling of not having your needs met or not having the support you need day to day.
What becomes possible “after” (over time)
Over time—recipe after recipe—you can build emotional stability, resilience, self-compassion, and clearer thinking. The “after” column describes shifts like moving into a H.E.R.O. mindset, taking responsibility for your emotional experience, living connected with your authentic self, responding with more choice, and having access to your natural intelligence.
It also describes growing a connected lifestyle and a healthier village: having tools that support well-being, being proactive about connection, repairing relationships, strengthening secure attachments, and feeling more inner peace and “rest and digest” regulation.
A gentle invitation
You don’t have to do this perfectly, and you don’t have to do it fast. Use this checklist as a living document—something you return to as your journey unfolds—so you can actually see how far you’ve come.
